Try This Outstanding Smoked Turkey!
In today’s recipe I'll show you how to smoke a Texas-Pecan Turkey on the Pit Barrel Cooker. To keep this turkey in the true spirit of Texas, we are finishing it with a Texas Bourbon and Sage Honey Glaze.
Dry Brine Recipe/Ingredients
• 6 tablespoons Kosher salt • 2 tablespoons Baking Powder
• 1 whole turkey, 12.7 lbs used in this recipe • 2-4 tablespoons olive oil • 2-4 tablespoons of Sucklebuster's Texas Pecan BBQ rub
Today's Tip : Turkey should be ideally pale in color and may have a slightly bluish tinge, with round thighs and plump breasts. Avoid buying frozen turkey, as it will be very dry and tasteless.
